You’re in Control of Your gAI Experience

At Grindr, we’re building a faster, more personalized platform experience. gAI™ (pronounced gay-eye) is our proprietary AI technology designed to bring more value to your time on Grindr: better connections and stronger follow through with the people you want to meet.
As we continue building gAI, you have clear choices about how it works with your data. Starting this week, we’re rolling out simplified controls for sensitive data, which you’ll see when you return to the app or create a new account.
This is not just a one-time choice; these controls are always available to you via your Privacy Settings > Sensitive Data.
Use the first control to choose whether we can use your sensitive data to provide and personalize gAI features for you and other Grindr users, and the second to choose whether we can use that data to improve and develop gAI over time.
Sensitive data is information that receives additional protections under privacy law in some places. Depending on where you live, this can include information such as position, ethnicity, or user chats. As you use Grindr, you decide whether or not to share sensitive data with Grindr at all.
We won’t use certain health data in gAI, regardless of the choices you make: HIV status, last tested date, testing reminders, the “Poz” tribe and tag, and vaccination status.
Additionally, we have updated our Terms of Service, including to make them easier to understand. Learn more in the Help Center.
