What’s the difference between trans and intersex?

Intersex people are born with variations in their bodies that do not fit into typical medical definitions of male or female. These may include chromosomal, hormonal, or other bodily variations. This is different from trans people whose gender identity does not match the category the doctor put them in when they were born.
